Moore
William (Billy) Moore is a native of Kilkenny. He graduated with an Art Teachers (Honours) Certificate of the Department of Education obtained at the National College of Art and Design in 1978. He was awarded the Advertising Diploma in Visualising by the Joint Advertising Education Committee.
He was Art and Design Teacher at St. Benildus College in Dublin. For most of his career he worked as a Finished Artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator at some of Dublin's advertising agencies and design studios. In 1981 he set up his own graphic design business, The Graphics Place, specialising in packaging design for some of Ireland's leading brands.
He is a member of The Watercolour Society of Ireland and the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and has exhibited at the RHA and many group shows including a solo show of pen and ink drawings of Kilkenny at Kilkenny Arts Festival. In 2023 he won the Evans Award for Still Life at the Watercolour Society of Ireland Exhibition. After he retired in 2007, he helped organise International Watercolour Workshops at the ‘Cornloft Studio’ in Co.Wexford bringing many well-known watercolour artist's to Ireland.
